Janmashtami Puja is a sacred celebration honoring the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu. Devotees observe fasting, chant Krishna mantras, and perform abhishekam (ritual bathing) of the Krishna idol with milk, yogurt, honey, and ghee. The puja includes singing devotional songs, offering prasad such as makhan (butter) and sweets, and reading from the Bhagavad Gita or Srimad Bhagavatam. Performing Janmashtami Puja with faith and devotion is believed to invite divine grace, love, and prosperity into one’s life.
